Nice easy drinking style from Chile. Bright green apple and stone aromas with flavors of white peach, grapefruit, lime zest and just a hint of green pepper. Has a nice round mouthfeel with a clean finish. Much mellower than most N.Z. versions.
Chateau Haut Rian $11.00
Classic White Bordeaux with lovely, bright, tangerine grapefruit notes. Pretty Sav Blanc acidity with Semillon body. Gorgeous with seafood, especially cooked in butter sauce. How are this affordable when their red brethren are so pricey?
Overstone Sav Blanc $12.00
How to explain this wine?? A style that's not allowed, a grape that's illegal in the D'Oc AOC, but really interesting and delicious. Heavy maceration, slight oxidation on Langedoc Sav Blanc. Love the sticker saying NOT IGP classification! Big acid, big body, big flavors of tangy apricot.
A delightful Sav Blanc from S.A. Zesty nose of citrus, passionfruit, pear, and lemongrass with faint, clean stone. On the palate its lively and clean, definitely not overworked like many N.Z. versions. Has body from a little lees and skin contact, finishes with a faint gooseberry and mango.
Three Brooms $16.00
This single vineyard, certified sustainable sav blanc shows lovely white flower, chili pepper, and gooseberry on the nose with some sandy mineralogy. Very nice weight and balance showing passion fruit, ripe apple flavors. Such a pleasant surprise is the roundness, the acid is lively and energetic but not abrasive.
Heritance Sauvignon Blanc $17.00
A nice counter to the N.Z. style, this SB shows copious aromas of meyer lemon, apricot, melon and passion fruit. The palate is broad, round and well balanced. The creaminess and tropical flavors make it unmistakably California.
Nicolas Sauternes $18.00
An affordable Sauternes?? For any fan of ice wine or dessert wines, Sauternes is the gold standard. Snuggle up with this after dinner to revel in its rich honeysuckle, stone fruit aromas and intense baked peach and honey flavors. Lovely balance of sweetness with acidity, concentration with freshness, and power with elegance.
Discreto Encanto $18.00
After years of making wine just to distill, Mexico's cool Guadaloupe Valley on the Baja has used temperatiure controlled fermentation to start making some serious wines! This blend of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Chenin Blanc shows notes of kiwi, pink grapefruit, baked apples with lilting aromas of smoke and stone.
Penalba Lopez $22.00
A remarkable white aged 11 months on the lees in French oak from a grape we'd never heard of and one we've never seen in Ribero. The rich buttery oak is the perfect foil for vibrant acidity and richness. Flavors of key lime, peach, apricot, toasty oak, and more. One of our favorites!
Chateau Raymond Lafon $23.00
One of the top producers at a great bargain. We committed to buying this a year ago to get this price and weren’t disappointed. Lemon peel, almond, coconut, mango, quince with refreshing acidity and just a hint of tannic grip.
Pabiot Pouilly Fume $26.00
An organic class act from Pouilly Fume. Five months on the lees and aged in stainless steel, there is nothing interfering with the flint and limestone soil and the beautiful and linear sharpness of the fruit. A dangerously addictive wine that will haunt you until you break down and buy it again.
