Piedmont

Cantine Valpane Barbera Monferatto Cantine Valpane Barbera Monferatto $15.00

The limestone soils from Monferrato show in this fun take on Barbera. A bit of Friesa is added for raw brightness. Easy drinking yet with gobs of Italian character. Nice plum and pepper show through nicely. No oaking.

Carlin de Paola Piemonte Rosso Carlin de Paola Piemonte Rosso $15.00

A perfect summer red! Intense ruby red with soft garnet nuances in the glass, the Piemonte Rosso is intriguingly fresh, fruity and spicy on the nose. Perfectly round and balanced, pair with simple dishes like fresh cheese, ham, salami, or pizza. Easier drinking than most wines from this region.

Negro Birbet Brachetto Negro Birbet Brachetto $15.00

How these bright, refreshing and slightly sweet styles get ignored is beyond me. Brachetto when made well shows lovely, rich raspberry and strawberry on the nose. The light sparkling quality tempers the explosion of vibrant, sweet red berry fruit. Just incredibly refreshing and lively and made for a lunch of fruit, cheese and charcuterie. And you know we love that!

San Lorenzo Gavi San Lorenzo Gavi $15.00

Gavi is a region in NW Italy in the Piedmonte, the wine is 100% Cortese and is very light and crisp, with hints of citrus, almonds, and grass. The whites of the Piedmont are always overshadowed by Barolo etc, prepare to be stunned as they are second to none!

Tintero Moscato Tintero Moscato $16.00

Sori Gramella refers to the one of the only single vineyard Moscatos, and Marco is the only producer to bottle this striking limestone amphitheater commercially. Once the 30 year old vines give up their bounty, and the grapes are harvested and pressed, they are kept in stainless steel at a low temperature to prevent fermentation until an order is received in order to provide the freshest wine possible.

Marchesi Rocchetta Grignolino d'Asti Marchesi Rocchetta Grignolino d'Asti $16.00

One of our favorite summertime reds, Grignolino is a grape grown in the Piedmonte in NW Italy and makes a vibrant, light and fresh red wine. Think Pinot Noir crossed with Nebbiolo but with riper cherries. Hints of mushroom on the nose and the palate is an exercise in smooth.

Fizz 56 Fizz 56 $17.00

Possibly the most beautiful ruby red color youíll ever see in a glass. This is the red counter to Astiís Moscato showing intense rose petal and candied cherry aromas. Big, sweet flavors of cherry supported with raspberry and strawberry notes. A fun and irresistibly delicious treat.

Domenico Clerico Visadi Dolcetto Domenico Clerico Visadi Dolcetto $17.00

Located on the family vineyards in the Monforte díAlba commune, this 100% Dolcetto is a beautiful expression of what this grape can do. With leather, cherry, raspberry and tobacco accents, and a little acidity that goes a long way, itís really hard to not drink a second bottle. This gem will go with our sopressata on a platter, or any sharp hard cheese.

Lodali Nebbiolo d'Alba Lodali Nebbiolo d'Alba $17.00

If you know us, you know we LOVE neb and are always on a quest for affordable, secret iterations of this magical grape. Giovanni Lodali planted a few vines to make wine for his little taverna customers and over generations the humble wine grew into a lovely and affordable pure expression of Neb.

Luigi Giordano Langhe Rosso Luigi Giordano Langhe Rosso $18.00

A really fun and unique wine. The bouquet is full and fruity, with hints of crisp dried flowers, dried plum and red fruit jam. The light spicy notes are just delicately noticed. The wine is full-bodied, very drinkable, and well balanced. It's best with a light chill, drinks like a bright Beaujolais.

Cordero Langhe Arneis Cordero Langhe Arneis $18.00

A white wine from La Morra in Barolo! Bright straw color with an intense nose of peach and acacia flowers, chamomile, and barely ripe melon. Solid body from three months on the lees. A secret find that may become your favorite go-to white. Seriously, when has anything from the Piedmont not impressed!?

Negro Domenico Angelin Nebbiolo Negro Domenico Angelin Nebbiolo $22.00

Just when I think we have enough Nebbiolo comes this new style. Classic fresh bouquet with hints of rose, leather, blackberry and blackcurrant. Drinkable but quite structured as well. I would love to see it in 5 years but I can't stop drinking it now.

Giordano Nebbiolo Brut Nature Giordano Nebbiolo Brut Nature $28.00

Yes, Barbaresco Nebbiolo done in the Champagne method with time on the lees and 2nd ferment in bottle. A nose of intense raspberry, citrus fruits with the tell-tale hint of wilted roses. Its very lively on the palate with a soft, clean aftertaste and a slightly tannic finish.

Rivetto Zio Nando Barbera Rivetto Zio Nando Barbera $36.00

Take the flight list Barbera and multiply the tastes by about a thousand, throw in 70 year old vines and two years aging in small oak barrels and the result. in the tastings notes of our Executive Sommelier just one word. Awesome!

Michele Chiarlo Michele Chiarlo $42.50

What a beautiful find! For being so young this Barabaresco is super approachable. Dark cherry, leather, tobacco, and a subtle hint of chocolate. The lovely acidity balances well with the slightly grippy tannins. Pair with a steak or hard cheeses.

Guido Porro Barolo Guido Porro Barolo $48.00

Don't recognize the label? Guido makes beautiful wine but shies from the limelight or even the daylight. Rugged vineyards in Serralunga are where you'll find him, not at festivals or tastings. Lazzairasco is a south facing amphitheater producing dense, powerful ripe fruit with the classic leather, roses and pekoe tea character. Classic styling but drinkable now, although just.

Marengo Bricco Della Viole Barolo Marengo Bricco Della Viole Barolo $49.00

I'm sorry. 65 year old vines, remarkable vintage, and already drinkable. This single-vineyard gem is hedonistic addiction in a bottle. Don't even try to explain what Barolo does to those not in the know, just keep this one to yourself. All it needs is some animal fat in flesh or cheese format and the tears will flow.
