Just hide one til 2021 and then hear the angels sing.



Clos de Moulin aux Moines Auxey-Duresses Clos de Moulin aux Moines Auxey-Duresses $45.00

These near 70 year old vines are in the highest and steepest corner of the vineyard, where only a very meagre layer of soil covers the bedrock. Only 6,000 bottles produced. Hand-harvested and 18 months in oak, about 20% of which is new. The wines is delightfully aromatic, complex and concentrated, with flavous of black fruit and kirsch, plush texture and well-integrated tannins.



Parigot Volnay Parigot Volnay $46.00

Volnay is between Pommard and Meursault and often produces the best reds of the Cote de Beaune. Structured and silky, with elegance and plenty of delicious Pinot Noir fruit, black cherries, soft forest leaves, a wisp of tannic structure and lively acid. Don't touch this unless you're prepared to have your heart and palate stolen. How this is the same grape as Meomi I'll never know...

    Sori Gramella refers to the one of the only single vineyard Moscatos, and Marco is the only producer to bottle this striking limestone amphitheater commercially. Once the 30 year old vines give up their bounty, and the grapes are harvested and pressed, they are kept in stainless steel at a low temperature to prevent fermentation until an order is received in order to provide the freshest wine possible.     A wonderful classic CA Cab with solid structure from the altitude and Hungarian oak. Reserved and dark on the nose with aromas of blackberries, hints of black licorice and coffee. Really nice and elegant. Touch on the masculine side with no jammy, jelly jar junk here. Wonderfully different.

    This single vineyard, certified sustainable sav blanc shows lovely white flower, chili pepper, and gooseberry on the nose with some sandy mineralogy. Very nice weight and balance showing passion fruit, ripe apple flavors. Such a pleasant surprise is the roundness, the acid is lively and energetic but not abrasive.

    The 2014 Amon Ra reflects the tried and true essence of the Glaetzer style - generosity of flavor with finesse of structure. The inky purple color displays the gentle but full extraction. The nose shows an abundance of dark blueberry, vanilla, black cherry and hints of cassis with notes of mixed spice and anise. Although still young and firmly wound, the vibrant blackberry and dried spice flavors integrate well with youthful yet supple tannins with the trademark loooong and sleek finish. Meant to go 10 to 15 years to hit its prime.

    So pretty. Brings a clear nose of Gimblett Gravels terroir beneath lush soft blue and black fruit with lovely violet and lavender notes. Palate is clean, balanced and very approachable. Just a hint of the Northern Rhone's meatiness but mostly bright fruit and enough acidity to hold it in check. Maybe the best NZ Syrah out there??
