After years of making wine just to distill, Mexico's cool Guadaloupe Valley on the Baja has used temperatiure controlled fermentation to start making some serious wines! This blend of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Chenin Blanc shows notes of kiwi, pink grapefruit, baked apples with lilting aromas of smoke and stone.

Truly a gorgeous Cremant. Almost all Chenin, there's faint whispers of frangipani, peach, and honeysuckle nestled in the limestone and baking bread aromas. Bracing acidity, clean finish, one of the best we've found. As good as any Vouvray Brut at half the price!

What the heck is Trousseau Gris? Well, its a light and crisp white wine from the alpine mountain sides of France in the Jura. We never knew that California could make a wine like this. Wonderful acidity with loads of tropical fruit notes and the palate is something not to be read but enjoyed.

From one of the most exciting new winemakers in California, Chris Brockway, we get this striking effort at sparkling Chenin Blanc using the traditional Petillant Naturale method. 60-year-old Chenin Blanc vines produce a high-acid, focused-minerality wine that gives off gentle fruit notes. Pair with simple seafood dishes, roast chicken or pork cutlets.



Champalou Vouvray Brut Champalou Vouvray Brut $25.00

Lovely gold with copious, tiny bubbles. The Chenin shows subtle aromas of orange zest, lemon zest, dried pear and a little floral honeysuckle. A sip brings a punch of lively apple, pear and light orange with faint honey and fennel. The finish leaves you pondering the wines many dimensions. Better with a wider range of food than Champagne at a better price for certain!

    The 2014 Amon Ra reflects the tried and true essence of the Glaetzer style - generosity of flavor with finesse of structure. The inky purple color displays the gentle but full extraction. The nose shows an abundance of dark blueberry, vanilla, black cherry and hints of cassis with notes of mixed spice and anise. Although still young and firmly wound, the vibrant blackberry and dried spice flavors integrate well with youthful yet supple tannins with the trademark loooong and sleek finish.
