So when the recent raging fires take your home but not your winery, what should one do?? Well if you are pioneering winemaker Carol Shelton you hit the road with a bunch of your wines. We are lucky to welcome Carol here for a casual tasting of some of her iconic California wines this Wednesday from 6-8 pm. Antonio Lopez will be providing some live entertainment as well.

Back when the glass ceiling still hung over the wine making industry, Carol was early to punch holes through it. Through an indomitable spirit and tireless work ethic she not only perservered but managed to work side by side with such icons as  André Tchelistcheff at Buena Vista and Peter Lehmann at Saltram in Australia. Her time making wine with these wine icons would be invaluable as she laid the foundation as a winemaker in Sonoma County. 

Her accolades would fill many pages, she has won Winemaker of the Year five times, has countless gold medals for her wines at Rodney Strong not to mention her own labels, was named one of eight Pioneer Women Winemakers of Sonoma County and recently her 2011 Wild Thing Zinfandel was included in Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines.

She'll be on hand as we pour four of her current releases, the Wild Thing Chard and Old Vine Zin, her subtle and nuanced Carnaros Pinot Noir and the Karma Zinfandel from Sonoma. A tasting flight of all four is only $8 and we'll have special pricing on these in the Wine Cellar also. So come on out and support a great winemaker by enjoying some delicious wines!
