Live Music at 6-9pm Cost-Free

Wine and Cheese presents Branden SipesWe discovered Branden Sipes when we had the restaurant up in Estes Park as he would play at Mary's Lake Lodge but never managed to get him in. Now that we are here in North Denver, we're excited to have him here a couple times each month. He perfectly fits Bitto Bistro with his great orginal material.

Branden is a Colorado native singer-songwriter and guitarist hailing from the Rockies. A Colorado State University graduate, Branden earned degrees in both music and business, studying classical guitar, voice, and marketing. Since finishing school he has set his music career in motion with a busy schedule of performing, recording, and teaching guitar.

Appearing as a solo acoustic musician, Branden presents original songs combining rock, pop, and folk influences. An engaging solo performer, his lyrics are catchy and finely crafted, describing universal life experiences with a clever ease. His intricate guitar work is a well suited accompaniment to his intimate vocals.

His debut EP, Contemplation, gained deserved notice. Songs from the release have been featured on 93.3 KTCL and 88.9 KRFC along with several internet radio stations nationwide. Branden has been awarded 1st Alternate in the Telluride Troubadour Competition, Honorable Mention in the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival, and Honorable Mention in The John Lennon Songwriting Contest.

Listen to a couple of his songs and you'll see why he's building a serious following here at Bitto! If you need to contact him or want more info, check out www.brandensipes.com.

Orchard Wine Cellar Movers and Shakers This Week

  • Armas de Guerra Rose

    #1 Armas de Guerra Rose

My heavens! 50+ year old, organic Mencia vines from some of the highest vineyards in Bierzo. Subtle aromas of strawberry, pink grapefruit and white pepper play with clean river rock minerality touched by zesty key lime. Balance and finish are tied together with a vibrating acidity. Structured and executed like a world class ballerina doing flamenco. Sells out every year for good reason. Lighter than Provence, a different planet than White Zin. The only hard part is only opening one bottle at a time.
    (Holding the #1 spot)

  • Laya

    #2 Laya

From Castilla-La Mancha in Central Spain, a unique blend made with the Garnacha Tintorera grape. Not only is the skin red, but so is the flesh. This provides a sturdy structure and noticeable tannins. Aged only 4 months in oak, this wine has luscious red and black fruits with hints of spice. Definitely one you should try, especially at this price! (behind by 4 bottles)

  • Gran Passione

    #3 Gran Passione

From the land of Amarone comes a delicious Merlot based blend. To perfectly ripe Merlot (60%) is added juice from dried Corvina grapes ala Amarone. Rich, deep and smooth, this is a remarkable Merlot that may just change your Merlot worldview! (behind by 9 bottles)

  • Avery The Maharaja Imperial IPA

Fun New Arrivals

  • Miquel Pons 77 Xarelho

    Miquel Pons 77 Xarelho

Paying homage to Miquel Pons who has 77 harvests under his belt is this delicious Xarel·lo. Handpicked and aged in French barrels with generous lees treatment, this is Xarel-lo like none we ever had. Gorgeous earthy acidty wrapped in creamy texture and ample oak. If you are a Cali chard drinker, prepare to have your heart broken by this Spanish seductress!

  • Schieferkopf

    Schieferkopf

Acid freaks rejoice! This dry Riesling shows the classic stone minerality and petrol on the nose with floral aromatics as well. The palate yields citrus, green apple and stonefruits with mouth watering acidity. A great food wine or one simply just to drink.

  • Obsidian Cab

    Obsidian Cab

A wonderful classic CA Cab with solid structure from the altitude and Hungarian oak. Reserved and dark on the nose with aromas of blackberries, hints of black licorice and coffee. Really nice and elegant. Touch on the masculine side with no jammy, jelly jar junk here. Wonderfully different.

  • Chateau Redortier Beaumes de Venise

    Chateau Redortier Beaumes de Venise

Wine geeks know of Gigondas and Vacqueras that show off Grenache like no other. Bordering both is Beaumes de Venise which is known for fortified Muscat. On a steep hillside (at 1500 ft!) twin sisters Sabine and Isabelle make this earthy, spicy blend of Grenache, Syrah and Counoise. A gorgeous wine.
