Adrian Nye

March 28, 2018
Live Music at 6-9 pm Cost-Free

Beautiful is the word you hear every time Adrian Nye's music is described.  Never a dull routine strum, his guitar work has lead and rhythm built in, whether it's an uptempo song or a ballad.  An accomplished fingerstyle guitarist, Adrian works a melody into everything he plays and mixes instrumentals seamlessly into his set.  Every song has a story or a concept or deep meaning that adds depth and rewards a repeated listen.

Adrian's full-length record West With the Night was released in 2018 on Blue Dome Records, and is getting airplay on Folk, Americana, and AAA radio stations nationwide.   It's a full band record featuring a cast of top-notch Austin musicians, and was produced by Bradley Kopp in Austin, TX.   Stay tuned to see if the record charts in 2018.

Adrian is a veteran of Boston new wave band Lizards in a Circle, which played too many bars in the 80s and 90s.   More recently he recorded an EP of his collaboration with Tessa Canzona, which features her amazing voice and Adrian's guitar.   Adrian developed his songwriting craft in Austin, Texas, and under the tutelage of Colorado great Chuck Pyle.

Adrian is an avid whitewater kayaker and lived for 5 years in a van traveling the country and camping by the river.  Many of his songs reflect that natural imagery.

The song Church of the Blue Dome has been translated into Spanish and is currently being played at environment demonstrations in Ecuador.

"What're you doing there?  That's cool." - Chuck Pyle

"Right now West with the Night is rotating with Todd Rundgren and Randy Newman in my car, and stands up with both of them.  Great work!" - Joe Strouse, Strousongs, Austin TX

"Adrian's song Wind River is a masterpiece.  First time I heard it, I knew he was onto something." -  George Ensle (legendary Austin musician who's been performing for 50 years)

"A new voice in modern folk/americana with intricate fingerpicking, a mellow vibe, smokey vocals, and well-crafted lyrics." - Jenny Reynolds

    #1 Bonavita Red

Made from four grapes harvested later than usual to achieve a greater ripeness and smoothness. A deep and inky wine, with ripe plum and blackcurrant aromas. Nice ripe fig and cherry with chocolate and licorice flavors. Just enough oak to give it some backbone.

  • Armas de Guerra Rose

    #2 Armas de Guerra Rose

My heavens! 50+ year old, organic Mencia vines from some of the highest vineyards in Bierzo. Subtle aromas of strawberry, pink grapefruit and white pepper play with clean river rock minerality touched by zesty key lime. Balance and finish are tied together with a vibrating acidity. Structured and executed like a world class ballerina doing flamenco. Sells out every year for good reason. Lighter than Provence, a different planet than White Zin. The only hard part is only opening one bottle at a time. (behind by 6 bottles)

  • Gran Passione

    Armas de Guerra Mencia

An excellent introduction to Bierzo's native varietal, the palate is fresh, elegant, and clean. Energetic aromas of fresh blue fruits, violet and white pepper, plus a subtle touch of licorice. Supple and gently sweet on the palate, offering sappy boysenberry and floral highlights with a hint of smokiness.

  • Porron Decanter

    Porron Decanter

The porron wine pitcher is a festive way to serve wine. Either use as a decanter or just pick up the porron and tilt it so that a thin stream of wine pours directly into your mouth! It takes some skill, but it is fun at a party to see how well you and your friends master the technique. Each porron holds 1 liter, which is a perfect size to hold a bottle of wine.

  • Amon Ra

    Amon Ra

The 2014 Amon Ra reflects the tried and true essence of the Glaetzer style - generosity of flavor with finesse of structure. The inky purple color displays the gentle but full extraction. The nose shows an abundance of dark blueberry, vanilla, black cherry and hints of cassis with notes of mixed spice and anise. Although still young and firmly wound, the vibrant blackberry and dried spice flavors integrate well with youthful yet supple tannins with the trademark loooong and sleek finish. Meant to go 10 to 15 years to hit its prime.
