Don Ramon - $10.00
Overall Rating: Value:
What can we say about this little $10 wine? It's easy drinking but with some fun Old World character. 6 months on oak lends a bit of structure but only enough to keep the bottle from being guzzled in one go. Nice dark cherry, a bit of warm earth, and priced to drink a couple times a day.
ALCOHOL: 12.5 % Vol.
GRAPE VARIETIES: Garnacha and Tempranillo.
DATE HARVESTED From the 2nd week of September.
PROCESS Traditional wine making for both varieties followed by a 10 day maceration with skin contact. After the malolactic fermentation both varieties are blended.
CRIANZA Ageing for 6 months in American oak barrels being matured in the bottle before sale.
TASTING Colour: Clean and bright; ruby red with violet tones. Aroma: Medium intensity, complex aromas combining matured fruity notes with spices and balsamic hints from its aging Palate: Soft and well structured attack, harmonic with tannins from the oak; long lasting aftertaste.
